Farming and mods debate - Guild Wars Forums

i cant seem to find any FAQ or general tips about farming. theres a few items im trying to get and know where to get them, but running around with henchies = very few drops (even fewer good ones LOL).

second, i'm kind of confused on some weapon mods and what I should use. my main ? is concerning weapon damage vs armor (mostly for PvE). for example, whats really better: sundering or some elemental mod instead (say ice damage for example)? if i were using an icy bow string or something like that, would armor reduce the ice damage (hence making the sundering better)? dont see the sense of getting a sundering mod that penetrates armor if armor typically doesnt reduce elemental damage.
